Pegasus
Contents
The Pegasus is a special Hero. As such, their base speed is 1 tpa. (By the way, the plural can be Pegasuses or the original Latin form Pegasi.)
Advantages
- Pegasuses can not be attacked. They can not be targeted by the Crystalline Catapult either. They can and will defend, however (see below).
- Pegasuses do not need your Hero Statue to be conjured higher. You can create as many of them as you need, so long as you have enough Mana (the cost doubles with each new Pegasus).
Disadvantages
- Pegasuses defend depending on their defence setting just like any other hero, so if they are standing on one of your palace or an allied one, they will take part in defending battles. This way, enemies will be able to loot their resources.
- Pegasuses can not attack anything.
- Pegasuses can be loaded only with Unicorn Carts and Dragon Eggs.
Conclusion
→ Pegasuses are your ideal heroes for saving resources, secure resource transport and Palace founding.
Saving Resources
Saving is a very important aspect of Xhodon tactics, so it will be explained more in detail here.
During longer periods where you are not online, it might well happen that someone who is simply stronger than you will raid your palace and steal all your resources. To prevent this, you can save your resources.
With a Pegasus
To save resources, load a Pegasus with as many Unicorn Carts as needed to carry the resources you want to save - each cart can carry up to 1000 resources. Now send the Pegasus to a valley where neither you nor an ally of yours has a palace (preferably in the same area as your palace). Set the defence settings to "normal" (this setting is given by standard anyway).
It is now impossible for anyone to attack your Pegasus and thereby loot your resources.
Without a Pegasus
It is possible to save resources and creatures without a Pegasus by using the fact that moving heroes can not be attacked.
- Load any hero with enough Unicorn Carts
- Load the hero with the resources you want to save
- Send the hero somewhere with the "Move" command - choose your palace for "Return to"
The target for your hero should be well-chosen. Your hero must not stand still, and you want it to arrive back home when you are able to log in again. The hero will go two ways: one to the target, one back to your palace, so each of these ways has to be half of the total amount of time until you log in next.
- Example
- It is now 10.40pm and you want to go to sleep, but you fear someone will attack you tonight, so you decide to save (or maybe you just save every night - somebody might attack anytime). It's weekend, so you know you won't be up before 10am the next day. This means you will be away for about 11 hours and 20 minutes (136 ticks). Therefore, your hero must arrive at the target after 5 hours and 40 minutes (68 ticks) - then he will move back to your palace for another 5h 40min and arrive home at 10am.
Important! |
Normal heroes are not immune to Crystalline Catapults, so your resources are not 100% safe this way! |
In the Secret Cavern
This is the last resort in case of an attack - your Secret Cavern. It will protect a certain amount (depending on its level) of every resource type in case of an attack, but this amount is usually not even worth building up the cavern.
The secret cavern can also protect creatures from battle. It is popular to hide some creatures when an enemy spy arrives. The spy report will not contain these creatures, so when the enemy horde arrives, you can just get them back outside the cavern and secure your victory.
Through Magic
Magic gives some means to safe resources or support saving.
The Merchant of Magic will trade resources for three Runes per trade. You can use this to "convert" easily accessible resources like Herb Essences into more valuable ones, i.e. preferably Gold Resin. This way, you will have a smaller number of resources and will need less Unicorn Carts to carry them.
The Teleporter allows you to teleport resources from one of your palaces to another one for three Runes per teleport. This may be a useful last resort if you have no other means of saving your resources in case of an impending attack.
